Steelers Stealing Spotlight in Richmond

Rachel DePompa – bio | email

Rachel DePompaAs much as it pains me to write this… (DIEHARD Redskins fan here)  The Superbowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers will be in Richmond next Friday. Mayor Dwight Jones is presenting Petersburg native (#51) James Farrior the key to the city. He’ll be joined by at least 13 other members of the team. (no word if Big Ben will be in town.) Farrior went to UVA and is a middle linebacker for the Steelers.  Jones will give Farrior the key at a ceremony on Friday June 12 at 4:30 at the Arther Ashe Center.

In Other News…. (I should just call this good news Friday!)

A Midlothian man is stepping up to help a Church Hill School. An arsonist burned down the playground equipment of George Mason Elementary School on Wednesday. It was going to cost the school system $70,000 dollars to replace it. We learned today that W.E.C Singleton has donated $75,000. WOW! Ryan Nobles is doing a story tonight.

I am a diehard Eagles fan. Go Eagles. Check out my blog Bobby Gee http://bobbygee.wordpress.com/

  2. I saw a commercial on FOX35 advertising the Steelers being in town. I can’t stand the Steelers, they are just as bad in my mind as the Eagles, Cowboys, and Falcons.

    Go Panthers!!!!!
